how's the video and audio on this compared to the ZS3 panasonic lumix?? i'm considering the lumix cause the price is pretty awesome...around $170 shipped at 6Ave.com right now
This price is about the same as what I have seem in local Frys. So you save on sales tax. This is not a super hot deal. I am waiting for a hot deal on Panasonic HDC-HS250. IT is a little more expensive but you better performance especially at low light performance and good anti shake technology.

It's really not fair to compare video between a still camera and a dedicated video camera. The Panny video is impressive for a still camera but it's not meant to be a substitute for a video camera. It's really designed to take video in short impropmtu situations when you don't usually have a video camera -- or they are not allowed. Ultimately it depends on how and when you'll be shooting video. Personally, I love my Panny, but I wouldn't want to be w/o a dedicated video camera either. In that regard Canon makes the best consumer camcorders right now.
Although you have to pay tax, you can pick this camcorder up at Costco right now with accessories (carrying case, 8GB SDHC card, mini-HDMI cable) for $569 + tax. Got one last night out the door for $605, which is about the same as buying it on Amazon and then picking up the 3 accessories on your own.
A potentially better alternative: Overstock has it for less than $500 with either Bing.com 12 percent Cash Back or the 10 percent coupon (and $1 shipping) sent via email. Listed at $549.
Important Message Please note that the price of Canon VIXIA HF200 HD Flash Memory Camcorder with 15x Optical Zoom has increased from $514.18 to $549.00 since you placed it in your Shopping Cart. Items in your cart will always reflect the most recent price displayed on their product detail pages.
