Which will wear out faster w/o the carbide tip - the lower- or higher-tooth-count blades? Besides longer life, does a carbide tip 100 cut better or faster than a non-carbide? (I'm guessing yes at least slightly).

Part of how much the non-carbide 100 matters I guess is whether you're doing mostly finish or mostly rougher cutting. But of course once you have a project w/ a lot of finish cuts you want the finish blade to work well...
