One downside to this bash is that usually members get a pre-bash card in the mail. This time nothing came except a notification about the bash. Oh well.

Oh well. What kind of card were you expecting? I got a postcard in the mail yesterday, just an announcement but no coupons (there never are for Bash). It's very unusual for them to have a Bash now -- they are usually in July/August and January/February, and obviously this is neither (also the card is calling them this Thanksgiving Bash). This either means that their business is bad, or their suppliers have so much overstock that Syms has access to lots more merchandise and wants to sell a lot of it. I think they've just upgraded their normal Thanksgiving sale to get more people into the store.

I do have a coupon that I got in the mail recently that I think is valid through the end of December offering me various amounts off my purchase (like $25 off $100). I wonder if they will accept it during Bash? They usually don't take coupons during Bash. BTW, Bash pricing is roughly 25% off all regular prices, although the price list on the card seems to be a little worse than 25% for some prices.

Some bashes are better than others.
If anyone can find out the details, please post.

I used to work near the Wall Street Syms. Every summer bash I would buy 4 or 5 decent wool suits at 60% off Syms price, their normal price around $300 each, Macys equivalue twice that.
Needed them for work.
Have not seen any really great deals there in years, but some solid values.
Once (only once) scored 5 Brioni suits at around $250 each.
Someone working there really screwed up on the price and I must have walked in right after they were put out.

Yes, they used to discount wool and non-wool suits differently depending on the time of the year. I think it was the February one which would have cheaper prices for wool, not the summer one (on the assumption that people wanted something lighter after the winter, I believe), but I could be wrong.

This seems to be a straight ~25% off everything according to the price list on the card I received, which is typical for most recent Bashes. I might stop in tomorrow and check it out.
