Does anyone know what (I) actually means? My guess is International version, meaning it contains language packs that are not in the English version. I have bought a (I) before, but noticed nothing different with the game, looks the same on the shelf and installed and ran just fine.

I bought the (I) version of Bioshock from GoGamer without noticing and when it arrived I discovered it was the English (UK) version.

As such, I believe the (I) stands for "Import".

ok, did some research. Found out on several gaming forums that the only different in the import version and the us version is when it was created for release. Meaning, the US version was distributed earlier than the import version because the import version may contain extra materials or fewer materials, depending upon the game. Also sometimes the import versions are already patched with the newest version, as they were processed at a later date. Not saying this game is taht way, can not find specific difference in CoD WaW (I), but all the sites showing the (I) version indicated the exact same content as the US version. May also have to do with import requirements that have to be made to fit a game to allow distribution Internationally, which would explain the delay in release. For xBox games and such it is different as those may be setup for specific xBox systems and will not work on the US system, but PC's are universal so you do not have that problem with PC games. Some have reported with other games the manual was in a different language, but the game install was the same as US version. Again, not saying this one is not in english, as sites show it to be the same as the US version. Hope this information helps.

My only concern is whether I can play online with the Import version....on the US servers (unless they're all the same).

Yeah, shouldn't be any problems there. The only company that makes a stink about buying imported versions of their games is Valve.
