I bought the 300GB version of this two years ago for $129 after rebate. I haven't had a single problem with it. Recommended if you're in search of one. I think I'll pick one up for a gift and one as a backup drive myself. Thanks, OP!

Actually it isn't. The drive at Staples is the WD MyBook which uses a 5400 RPM "Green" drive and has poor reviews for death.

This drive uses the Blue series 7200 RPM drive (WD6400AAKS) which is highly rated, in fact it's the single best rated internal drive at Newegg with > 80% satisfation with >950 reviewers vs. 55-65% satisfaction with < 200 reviewers for any other large drive. Performance beats Seagate and Samsung in *most* tests, when used as an internal SATA. Granted in this enclosure it's restricted to 25-30 MB/s but it is a really good drive inside.

In any case this is a good price on a highly reliable drive in a good case, unfortunately it's at Buy.com.

Thank you! I wasn't sure what the internal drive was at the Staples deal. I almost decided I would get one and see. But I definitely do not want the "green" HD.
