This is an intentional repost of baileypoo's post to draw your attention to the new lower price.

Looks like a great deal for a quality train set.

Question for all you old trainers out there, is the current O gauge the same as the old O-27 gauge from many years back?

The red in his post means that other people voted his post negative, not that he voted this thread as negative.

Lands End says it does come with a transformer with whistle and forward/reverse buttons.
The locomotive is die cast metal and includes a tube of smoke producing liquid.

027 and O have rails the same distance apart, but the o27 is shorter and creates a tighter turn, but with these slow light new cars you mostly can mix and match.

Yes I see GeorgeGarman has been redding my posts for no good reason as well. Gotta love the crankies with an sense of entitlement. It's not our fault you suck George.

Does this train include smoke unit?

Good deal, but keep in mind that O gauge is pretty big. I built a table for my kid's O gauge Lionel - the top was a 4' by 8' sheet of plywood. It also required a couple feet of walk around space around the table, so it finally took up an 8' by 12' area.

If I had to do it again I'd look into the HO gauge, or the even smaller N gauge.
