Here's the text I just sent CC: "Just heard Circuit City is closing many stores. I'm sorry for some of the good employees. However, as a customer, I saw this coming long ago, due to the consistently poor customer service, inadequate stock on sales items, fraudulent tech repair procedures (news investigation story), previous layoffs / rehire policy, etc. Exactly what happened to CompUSA! Refuse or fail to take care of your customers, and no amount of paid advertising, training, or sales gimmicks can make up for your sales lost to negative reputation." EDITED TO Add: Given the poor customer service I felt I experienced at many stores besides Circus City, (including Worst Buy and Oriface Depot), I was getting concerned that it may just be me (too demanding a customer - just like to complain maybe?). Then I realized that, no, I wasn't expecting too much - in stock merchandise, accurate advertising, available salespersons with adequate training and good attitudes, and no flagrant legal violations of my consumer rights. So, I too am back to supporting the good places to shop - like Newegg - where things don't always go perfect, but they work with you to make them right! |
