Last week sometime, a member posted a very vague thread about a clearance deal on 2008 Acura TLs. It was subsequently closed and moved to the black hole of FW. Well, I am going to continue where this member left off.

Your mission, if you choose to accept it, is to find 2008 Acura TLs dirt cheap. Currently, here are the special offers from Acura:

- $3500 Cash Rebate for any new 2008 Acura TL
- .9% financing for up to 36 months or 2.9% financing for up to 60 months

Pair this with abysmal car sales, and you can get yourself a sweet deal!

Here's the breakdown and this is what I'm purchasing:

- 2008 Acura TL with Navigation

MSRP Price with Destination: $36985
Invoice: $34043

Price I'm getting it for: $30K plus TTL, which I've negotiated a price of $32.5K OTD.

I'm getting this at the Jacksonville Acura dealer, they have quite a few 08 TLs left. I've been shopping around other dealers here in the SouthEast and the lowest price I've gotten was Columbus, GA Acura with a price of 29.9K plus TTL. They just didn't have my color configuration I wanted.

Keep in mind, there's two other choices on the TL:

- 2008 Acura TL Base (No Nav) - Someone can get this DIRT CHEAP. I haven't seen what kind of prices I can get but majority of the TLs out there are the Base model.
- 2008 Acura TL Type-S - This has the bigger engine, a little different interior, etc. More of a sportier model. The wife didn't like it or I would be getting this. There's not many of these out there, but deals still can be had. I've negotiated one down to $32.5K plus TTL at Macon, GA Acura.

I've also been following this thread on Edmunds Car Space where people are getting prices in California for 29K plus TTL for a 08 TL with Navi.

Edmunds Car Space Thread

Hopefully other people can take advantage of this for a great car, I'm stoked about getting one myself!

Do you browse SD too? There a thread about the TL in SD, maybe you were thinking about that. 2 people said they got the TL-S for $27.5K and $28K OTD, but I think it's BS.

So just doing the numbers on that, let's say sales tax is at 6% (which is Florida's state rate, county may be different). Plus other fees like licensing, lemon law, etc. you are around $2k. So that would mean a dealer would of sold a TL-S for around $26K.

Sorry, I can't buy that. Maybe for a used one or a base model, but not for a brand new TL-S. There's only a handful left here in the SouthEast, and there's no way a dealer would take that much of a loss.

Not BS. True. They have to make room for the 2009 models.

While I agree that ~30k OTD is a fantastic price on a brand new TL, type S, or otherwise. You should take into account that Acura went through a substantial redesign for the 09 TL - the 4th generation of the model, which will substantially knock down the resale for the 3rd gen a few years down the road. For example do a search on your local CL or a popular auction site and take a look at the difference in price between the 03 TL (last year of the 2nd gen) and the 04 TL. Both had similar MSRPs when new, but the relative difference in listed prices are staggering. But if you're getting a TL for the long haul, there are few that can compete with the car or the deal. I've got a 1st gen TL that's 230k miles strong and I might be ready to give it up for a sweet deal on an 08.

Its BS. We are talking about the Type S and not the basic model. Even $26K before taxes and fees is impossible.

I'm sorry, I can't buy it. The MSRP for a Type-S is 38.9K. The dealer would be taking a substantial loss to take a deal like that.

If you can prove me wrong, please do. I'd love to see a deal like that!

Nice!

I got one almost exactly 2 years ago for 30 even and that was without navigation!

A great car for the money. And even though it takes premium gas, even that seems like a bargain lately...

hows the gas mileage on these things? If it's not 38+, im not interested. My corolla gets over 38 mpg. If the acura gets above that, i'll go pick one up this afternoon.

The 4th generation is so fugly though -- I doubt people's interest in the 2004-2008 models will wain over the next 2-3 years.

it's comparing apples and oranges... mpg is not the TL's strong suit. but it wins out in so many other ways. i really hope ur kidding with this comment.

What else would I want a 2 wheel drive car for? If it's not getting great gas mileage, whats the point? Is a smooth ride and extra performance worth an extra $10k? Besides looks and performance, what can this car offer me that I'm not already getting from my corolla? The acura isn't exactly a veyron.

Not BS. One of my co-workers just bought a 08 type TL-S for $28k.
