I have been researching a small format digital camera with significant zoom. After comparing many different ones, I settle with the Panasonic DMC-FZ28K digital camera. It has 10.0 MP with 18X zoom. It can also record HD video, that could be really handy. I could use this instead of a camcorder. A free 8GB SD card also comes with this purchase. Amazon has dropped the price from $309 to $301 now. I was almost ready to pull the trigger there since most other stores sell it at about $400. However, I tried to find one with Live search and got a brand new one from eBay. It has 25% off Cash Back with Live search. I think this is a great find and would like to share it with everyone else. I was actually shopping for the silver version.. The prices has dropped each week.. I'm debating if i should wait till Black Friday.. Hmm what do you guys think? Not sure if i can trust eBay.. might send me a gray market version or whatever they call it. |

There was also a 10% off email from eBay until Oct. 30. Price was $299.00 +9.99sh (incl. 8GB SD card) -$75 from live.com -$30 from eBay =$204.94 (after 60 days thru paypal). Was considering the Canon XSi -$200 from live.com, but would want the 70-300 lens to go with it, so the Panasonic was the choice. I understand the quality won't be as good, but for an all-around camera, sound pretty nice. It didn't state whether the 8GB memory card was SDHC or not, anyone know? |

You might want to consider the Panasonic DMC-TZ5 instead. (I have a predecessor of that model and have been very pleased with it.) It has 10X zoom instead of 18X, but it's much more compact. |
