I am so close to actually buying a notebook. If I can just figure out a use for one, the weight and price have made great strides during the last six months. Wow, that Atom CPU is fantastic. Lots of sellers and CashBack still working. Sweet. Now, I still need a reason to buy one. I have several desktops, just don't need a notebook.

I tried live search CashBack, can not see $105 Cash Back. Where to see it?

you've got to so a search for something via windows live search. go to live.com or msn.com and search for something like "zune" or "xbox" or "1080p hdtv" and you should see an option to search for one those products on eBay for 30% off.

make sure you see the 30% off option atop the screen while on eBay, then you'll know you've cookied your search and are eligible. You have to do this search with IE or on firefox with the live search plug in to cookie that search and trigger the savings

good luck

Wow. Thanks for this. It showed up and eBay even had an extra 10% off for me for using paypal. It claimed the coupon code was only valid if it shows up as a coupon code in your eBay account. Check on your "my eBay" page to see if you have a coupon under coupons first before buying (I bought something earlier and didn't realize I had a coupon until after I bought!), but lucky me I was able to use the coupon for this.

Unfortunately I live in CA, so essentially the 10% off took off the tax for me.

Thanks though, it's a great price with the Cash Back!

Ordered one for my kid. Tried to stack the 10% eBay sent me. It showed up at first but the next screen it said the code has been used too many times???

Anyway, it's still a good deal when I get Cash Back.

Thanks OP.

i feel so resentful as these prices keep dropping week after week. I bought the Aspire One for 480 precashback and 2 wks later its down to 400$... and now it turns out I'd prefer to get the Asus 1000H cuz the aspire seemed too small and bought the 1000H also.. hoping to turn the aspire back out and at least break even after the CashBack. ... Im afraid to go back and check how much cheaper the 1000H has dropped since i bought it last week and still waiting for shipment.

the things you do when you're pussywhip..

now hopefully i wont change my mind again and figure the 1000H 10" screen too big and go for this 9" 900HA screen instead.. and have to sell off both the 8" aspire and the 10"incher.... if only i wasn't surprising her with it. .. or just buy all 3 and set it up across the table and have her pick one.

you know despite what some women say, size matters..
thank you for reading my pointless banter

I've used several of these at work and can safely say that there is not nearly enough screen for normal every day use. 1024x600 is very low compared to the amount of resolution on today's monitors. I'd highly suggest going to a B&M to try one of these out--web browsing, etc--before purchasing.

Got the Asus 1000h for <$300 after Live CB a couple of days ago. How can these guys run such a promo without losing their hat? Amazes me! I got a brand new Wii + WiiFit combo last week for <$260!

I just bought the Aspire One that has the same stuff - 6 cell 160gb etc.
Anyone direct me to a site that puts this netbook head-to-head with the Aspire One with same stuff?
Or tell me the real differences? I am thinking of hawking the Aspire just because the EEE usually gets such good reviews...

I got this with 30% + 10% over the weekend. Took me couple of tries until the banner appears on eBay. Has anybody got theirs yet? I cannot find any reviews for this model or on YouTube. It seems like the closest model to compare it to would be the 904HA.

I am still hesitating to buy it or not. I personally prefer to buy Lenovo Ideapad S10, which is a little larger (10" screen), and also has a multi-touch function. I saw one Youtube video about Asus EEE 900 with Multi-touch function, but can not see that in specifications. Anyone can confirm Asus eee 900 has multi-touch or not?

Now $245 is really a good price, but the price of these baby notebook seems drop very fast. I remember last year the price of GPS dropped fast before Thanksgiving, maybe this year same thing will happen on these mini notebook?

They're likely running this promo as the same ponzi scheme we had with the housing bubble. They are trying to generate sales/users just like Places like starbucks are selling discount gift guards to distort statistics. It will come back on them of course.

Oh Don't forget paypal/eBay gets like 11% from every transaction so this is really only -19% to them.
