this was 5.95 in fall of 2000. No deal here. We have watched it go up $1 every other year. or more frequent that that.

I hate this place

The bowls they use for this deal are extremely small, and it takes them 30 minutes to bring your next out (at least in my experience). I'd rather pay a few extra bucks for a good bowl of Penne Rustica over at Macaroni Grill.

Do we thing inflation is a myth??

Since that time, gas has tripled, Cigarettes have nearly tripled, many common consumer Staples (milk, eggs, etc..) have nearly doubled, energy costs are up over 30% - food costs are up at least 30% and going higher --

Real inflation (not the phony govt numbers) has logged 50% at least since then. That's not even figuring in the massive run up in housing prices for huge parts of the country (even after figuring in the recent crash)

So based on the numbers, 9 bucks is about right.

Not that anyone without the goal of obtaining obesity needs to be eating unlimited pasta and bread.
Gorging on simple carbs spikes blood sugar, thus contributing to quick weight gain and a much higher likelihood of diabetes.

So, this is definitely not a hot deal - it's priced appropriately, and is terrible for the body to stuff your face with cheap carbs.

Thanks OP!! Love it when they run this. To the person who said they take forever to bring out subsequent bowls, I usually order mine when I'm 50-60% done with my current bowl so it comes out not too long after I'm finished. Hope this helps!

Another happy fat boy (or girl). Hey why not eat 5 or 6 bowls, you'll get your money's worth and pack in a few thousand calories in one sitting.

Ohhhh the excitement. You folks coming on here getting giddy about this deal need to get your heads checked (and your waistbands)

Shoot.. 2000.. That's already 8 1/2 years ago of never ending pasta. No wonder I feel so fat!
