I recently had my dryer vent cleaned and it now works like 6x faster, yes, it was THAT bad. I used to have to run it about 3-4 90 min cycles to dry 1 large load, now I can get by on 1 50 min cycle. Also our hose was crushed so I replace that for $6.

great post! we can always use safety reminders. I too, had a flexible dryer vent because previous homeowner was either lazy or didn't know. I have switched it to a rigid pipe now, and it's much safer!
