nice find, hopefully it will be dirt cheap on a friday very soon. Seems odd to have a 498.99$ price tag at BB too.

Not bad. You can get the newer P42X1 for about the same or a little less if you want to jump through Cash Back and Gift Card hoops. But not a bad deal and still a very good set.

forgot to put the link:

I think they made it $498.99 so it will come up lower than the $499.99 that Fry's and some others are listing.

is Sharp for $899 as of today the best deal on a 52" 1080P?
I bougth a Panasonic 42 inch 720p 3 years ago and paid 899 in Black friday. I was not aware of Fatwallet and the only best deal in town then was a 50" same specs for $1099 that a friend bought without sharing with us... It was not posted anywhere, He found out in the cash register that day. Still I complain that friends should have called immediatelly to stop the rest from buying the 42. (Our group of friends were all buying TVs that year)
Now Fatwallet are my new shopping friends
I know, long story... who cares about my friends!!
Please try to answer my question! I will not buy any less than 52" 1080P

This is a great tv if you watch mostly SD material from a quality source.

I feel like I'm trashing all these cheap TC-P42C1 threads but IMHO spend the extra $30 a buy the TC-P42X1 at Dell. It offers higher contrast ratio, 30,000:1, Anti-Reflective coating, 3 HDMI instead of 2, etc......

Dell Link

This TV can be had for $529 - 26.45 (5% CB) = $502.55 andif you have a Dell DPA - 15.87 for a total price of $486.68 + tax.

I thought the whole 1080p v. 720p was accpeted as another scam designed to separate a fool from his money b/c the difference in picture quality is not really noticeable (unless you're a game or something like that). Am I wrong about this?

Also, I heard the same thing about LED TV's vs. LCDs. Tekky geeks, please fill me in...

Thanks for posting. I ordered it late last night for pick up at a local BB. The TV is for my in-laws, who currently use a 19" on the other side of the room. They don't need 1080p. Nor do I believe anyone needs 1080p on this size TV unless you are going to use it for a gaming monitor RIGHT in front of you. But then, you're probably better off with an LCD to help avoid burn in from looking at the same game graphics in the corner of your screen all night, every night

I think it's a good price on a good TV. I agree with a previous poster that the Dell one might be better for some for the couple bucks more. But this TV will do nicely for the in-laws.

Oh, and there might yet be some better deals come BF. There probably will. But personally I don't plan to do the all night thing to save a few bucks more. I wager that the price won't be a whole lot less for a similar TV. Particularly if you're going to keep it name brand.

Thanks,
