How do these normally work? I'm curious, as most of the Walmarts around here are 24 hours. Do they have people line up in advance?

A year ago, I got the Compaq laptop they had at the same price. I'm very happy with it, but note that I'm not a gamer. Still, it streams hulu, etc. without any hiccups.

Here's the thread from last year.
Includes specs for comparison.

Thanks! Yeah I was wondering about games... I don't play many and wouldn't be playing new games if I was, but I wonder if it could handle older rpg/rts/fps games

checked out the tv today .. colors were ridiculously washed out even after I played with the settings on it. I'm hoping it was a feed issue or a bad set. The picture itself looked relatively sharp and the contrast looked good.

Looking for your thoughts on the computer deal.
Think this is a good deal for the wife to surf, email, journal, etc. ???

Yeah and I checked out the XBOX today. Yesterday's technology. Terrible smell. Ugly color. And that laptop, it looks like someone burnt a grilled cheese sandwich and stuck an Intel chip into it. I think you all should stay home.

LOL, I have a 10 year old, $300 computer that's still good for surfing, emailing, and journaling...so this laptop is probably ok for that, yes.

If you're being sarcastic it's not appreciated. I've looked at a hundred TV's over the last few years comparing features/picture etc. before making my own purchase last year. I'm a bit of an A/V addict actually. I was offering the advice that not all Sharp's are created equal, this is not from their Aquos line. Sharp's lower line (often with SB in the name as they are frequently targeted at small businesses) has been noted to have inferior picture quality overall than the Aquos line. This TV was really the only one on the wall at the WalMart I was in that had the washed out color which leads me to believe it probably wasn't a signal issue. So either that set was defective, there's some more advanced color settings that could somehow explain it (ITwas up high so I had a hard time adjusting any menu settings other than the basics), or there's a defect in that model line.

Comparing my comments on a possible issue with the picture on a TV set to your comments on the color or appearance of the plastic cases on laptops and xbox is quite ignorant. I don'treally care how the outside of my xbox looks, I CARE about how the screen of my tv looks.

I was thinking about getting the laptop. However, my current wireless router at home is N and not G. Does anyone know if this is a problem? Thanks for your help!

Its been said hundreds of times...Dont trust the picture of a TV by a store display! WalMart has a good return policy.

Watch out for HP laptops. I had 2 of them and both died because of a motherboard defect. Just do your research before purchasing.

N is backward compatible so wireless G will work with your setup.
